A new Beginning for the 101 Diet

Welcome to the 101 diet section. This is my first posting and we will use this opportunity to invite all contributors and people who have ideals to join the blog and enter their own experiences. This is a free online community for people who are undergoing weight control programs and without their personal input we would miss out on some wonderful information.
Today I wanted to go through some general diet tips to start us off. Water is your friend if you are hoping to successfully control your weight. Some people argue that water takes out toxins from the body and helps to maintain a healthy lifestyle. However others have argued that it can dilute all the minerals within the body leading to serious health conditions and even death in some cases. Like all good things in life, moderation is the best thing. Only make an attempt to drink and if you feel ill or uncomfortable then you can make a decision to stop. Water is a lubricant as well so it might help to prevent constipation or other bowel related problems.
It is important to take safe water because you might end up really losing weight to fatal levels if you catch a water borne disease such as cholera. Water is also a great way to reduce the amount of food intake because if you eat while you drink in between mouthfuls, you are likely to get full up much faster than people who merely eat or only drink at the end of a meal. Of course the water might dilute some of the taste but it is worth trying if you are seriously trying to lose weight.
It might sound quite straightforward but it is not; Drinking a sweet fizzy drink or soda is not the same as drinking real natural water. First of all the fizzy drinks might contain additives that are not conducive to your health and wellbeing. Furthermore these sorts of drinks contain sugar which can seriously drive up your calorie intake. Although the temptation is there, it is better to resist than to undermine all dieting efforts by replacing any calories that have been shed.
A diet that contains fruit or food that is rich in water is also preferable to one that lacks water. Water melons are an example of a fruit that contains a very high proportion of fluid which could improve your water intake. The sugars in the water melon are not additives so they can be taken within moderation. Canned fruit is generally not a good idea.
